What’s Happening:  This week I’d like to turn your attention to the benefits of hot stone massage. A hot stone massage involves flat basalt stones being immersed in hot water and then placed or massaged onto specific parts of the body. Massaging with the stones allows me to get deeper into your muscles without more pressure helping you to relax even further. Hot stone massage is great for pain relief for people who have fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, and great for stress relief. It increases joint flexibility and helps to decrease muscle spasms and tension.

Hydration Recipe

Keeping hydrated is an important part of staying healthy. Water promotes cardiovascular health, keeps your body cool, helps muscles and joints work better and keeps skin supple. Here is this week’s hydration recipe:


Mango Pineapple Water


1 medium mango, sliced

¼ pineapple, cut into chunks (skin removed)



Add mango slices and pineapple chunks to a pitcher of water. Chill for 4-6 hours to infuse the flavors.


DIY Shoulder Massage

Do you have shoulder pain? Here is a technique to help relieve the tension.

  1. Stand up against a wall with your legs spread apart, and hold your arms up on either side of you in a 90-degree angle.
  2. Slowly raise your arms up and down.
  3. Do this at least 15 times.
  4. This movement will loosen you up and may alleviate upper body tension.
